Document translations

Do you need a document translated for a Czech authority, school, bank or employer? We translate certificates, diplomas, criminal record extracts, birth and marriage certificates, contracts and mortgage documents – as a standard translation or as a certified translation. A scan or a photo is enough for a quote.

Documents we translate most often

  • Residence documents – documents for long-term or permanent residence in the Czech Republic: birth certificates, criminal records, proof of income and accommodation
  • Diplomas and school certificates – for nostrification, studying and job applications. More on diploma translations.
  • Personal documents – birth, marriage and death certificates, divorce judgments, certificates of marital status
  • Criminal record extracts – for employers, authorities and residence applications, usually as a certified translation
  • Driving licences and vehicle documents
  • Mortgage and loan documents – proof of income, payslips, employment contracts, tax returns, bank statements
  • Company documents – commercial register extracts, articles of association, financial statements, certificates

Standard or certified translation?

It depends on who you submit the document to. Czech authorities, courts, registry offices and schools usually require a certified translation with the clause and seal of a registered translator. Employers, banks and business partners are often happy with a standard translation, though some banks require a certified one. If you are not sure, write in the note who the document is for – we will advise you so you don’t pay for a certification you do not need.

How to prepare your document

  • Send a legible scan or photo of all pages – including the back, stamps and handwritten notes. The whole document is translated.
  • For a certified translation we need the original or a certified copy. The translation is bound to it. Alternatively, choose a translation with an electronic clause.
  • Write how names are spelled in your passport – especially for documents in Cyrillic.
