What is a standard page?
A standard page is the unit used to measure the length of a text: 1 standard page = 1,800 characters including spaces, which is roughly 250 words. It is counted from the translated text – font size and the number of printed pages do not matter. A densely written A4 page can have 2 or more standard pages, a short document (e.g. a birth certificate) is usually around 1. You can check the character count in Word under Review → Word Count (characters with spaces) – or just send us the document and we will count it for you.
Prices are indicative and apply per standard page (1,800 characters including spaces) of ordinary text. You will see the final price and deadline in the quote before ordering – sending a request does not commit you to anything.
What affects the price
- Length – we count standard pages of the translation; larger orders get a better price.
- Specialisation – technical, legal or medical texts require a specialist translator.
- Deadline – express translation is possible even at weekends; the price reflects the volume and deadline.
- Certified translation – a translation with a certification clause for authorities, bound to the original.
- Source files – we also process scans and photos, though the deadline may be slightly longer.
Certified translations
Certified translations of birth certificates, diplomas, contracts or register extracts for Czech and foreign authorities. From CZK 449 per page.
Proofreading
Grammar, style and terminology check of a finished text by a native speaker or experienced proofreader. Price by volume and language.
